We named our preserves after Lady Waterford who lived in Ford Castle from 1859 until her death in 1891.
Lynne is our marmalade and jam maker. And she can now lay claim to being one of the best in the world thanks to the Worlds Original Marmalade Awards which are held each year at Dalemain in Cumbria.
Our first entry in 2012 brought a silver award for a Victorian recipe called Seville Orange Marmalade with Chips. At that time there were about 1000 entrants both amateur and Artisan (in 2018 it was over 3000!). More awards followed and in 2016 Lynne won a Double Gold award (one of only two that year) for a Seville Orange Marmalade with Beetroot; It goes beautifully with cheese or cold meats but you can still have it on toast. It was that win that took us to Fortnum & Mason and tall orders for marmalade made in small batches!
Our range of preserves is constantly growing and we now supply to a number of specialist grocery shops and delis including our own customers at the Dairy.
